Local MP Alan Mak has planted a wooden cross in the Constituency Garden of Remembrance in Parliament to honour the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces from the Havant Constituency.
The garden in New Palace Yard, outside Westminster Hall, was launched in 2021 by the Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle in partnership with the Royal British Legion.
It gives all 650 MPs from across the UK the opportunity to participate collectively in an Act of Remembrance at the home of Parliamentary democracy.
Mr Mak plants a cross every year, and said: "The Garden of Remembrance is a poignant reminder of the service and sacrifice of our veterans, Armed Forces personnel and military families from the Havant Constituency and across the country.
"I was honoured to plant a cross on behalf of everyone in the Havant Constituency to honour those from our area who have served our country and paid the ultimate price for defending our freedom and democracy.”
