Local MP Alan Mak has opened the newly renovated Hybrid Havant offices of defence and aerospace firm Lockheed Martin at Langstone Park.
Mr Mak was welcomed at the facility by Lockheed Martin’s UK Chief Executive Paul Livingston who gave a tour of the new site, which now features new meeting rooms, modern technology, and a modernised space reflective of flexible working practices post COVID-19.
Following a look around, Mr Mak delivered remarks thanking Lockheed Martin for their hard work supporting our national defence and security, and for their continued positive presence in the Havant Constituency, where they have now had a base for over 20 years. Havant is home to the Royal Navy’s Merlin Anti-Submarine and Airborne Early Warning helicopter programmes, Royal Mail’s sortation technologies and the expanded facility now also houses international enterprise service functions, such as IT, global supply chain and HR for Lockheed Martin – covering all parts of the world outside the US. Lockheed Martin’s Havant team also recently won the Tiquila Unmanned Air System contract, which will see them partnering with the British Army to provide both tactical and long endurance uncrewed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) services. This contract will provide work for the Havant facility for the next 10 years.
During his time at the facility, Mr Mak got the chance to view the existing combat proven systems developed by Lockheed Martin, including the Stalker VXE30 and Indago 4 Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS).
Local MP Alan Mak said: “I’m delighted that Lockheed Martin are reaffirming their commitment to Havant with a revamped and expanded office which welcomes 137 new employees to our area. Their work with our Armed Forces contributes to our national security and their decision to grow their Havant office is a vote of confidence in our local economy and workforce.”
Lockheed Martin Chief Executive Paul Livingston said: “It is fantastic to officially launch our Hybrid Havant office space. We are delighted that Alan could join us at today’s event as we demonstrate our continued commitment to Havant.
“This new office space is designed to enable flexible working with a real focus on enabling collaboration. Our employees can now work wherever it is best for them, demonstrating our ambition to create the best possible environment for our employees to succeed.”
