Havant MP Alan Mak fielded questions from students at Oaklands Catholic School on Friday as part of UK Parliament Week.
Pupils from the school had the chance to quiz the MP on a range of topics, everything from tuition fees to the British voting system to how politics is funded.
The event took place as part of UK Parliament Week, which is an annual festival that engages people from across the country, and explores what politics means to them and empowers them to get involved.
Alan Mak MP said: βI was delighted to meet with some of the students from Oaklands School today, all of whom had such thoughtful questions. UK Parliament Week is a fantastic initiative as I really believe it is important as a local MP to get out and inspire the next generation. We should really cherish our democracy, and I hope that some of the students today will now look to get involved in politics in the future.β
Vicci Masson, Head of Politics at Oaklands School, said: βIt was fantastic to have Parliament week rounded off with our students being able to ask their local MP his thoughts on the issues that really matter to them.β
