Local MP Alan Mak has offered his congratulations to Front Lawn Primary Academy in Leigh Park following news that the school has been rated “Outstanding” by OFSTED following a recent inspection.
In a letter to the school’s head teacher Mrs Couldwell, the Havant Constituency MP said that all pupils and staff at the school should be “immensely proud” of the inspection result.
Alan also recently met school teacher Mr Christofa and pupils in Parliament for a Q&A prior to the school going for a tour of the Parliamentary estate.
In the OFSTED report, the school is graded as “Outstanding” in every category that was assessed, with inspectors saying that teachers work “tirelessly” towards achieving the best outcomes for students, and that the school’s stated goal of being a ‘gateway of opportunity’ for pupils is “impressively realised, notably for pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds”.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “Having served as a primary school governor I know just how much hard work goes into preparing for an OFSTED inspection. I am delighted that Front Lawn Primary Academy has achieved Outstanding status – one of the highest accolades in teaching – which all pupils, parents and staff at the school can take great pride in.”
Mrs Couldwell, head teacher at Front Lawn Primary Academy, said: “We are delighted to have been graded Outstanding by OFSTED, it is a fantastic reflection of all the hard work our staff, children and parents have put into the school over the last ten years. Our pupils also enjoyed their visit to Parliament to meet their local MP.”
