Local MP Alan Mak has attended the annual Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast with Reverend Andrew Sheard of St. James’ Church in Emsworth.
This year’s breakfast focussed on the theme of ‘Forgiveness in Public Life’ and included a speech from Dr Amy Orr-Ewing, honorary lecturer at the University of Aberdeen School of Divinity.
Mr Mak attends every year, and together with Reverend Sheard they prayed, sang hymns, and attended a seminar.
The National Prayer Breakfast is organised every year by the Christians in Parliament cross-party group.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “The Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast is a great opportunity to acknowledge the work of local church leaders from the Havant Constituency, and I was delighted to be joined this year by Reverend Andrew Sheard. Thank you to Andrew for joining me and for all the work you do in our community in the Havant and Emsworth area.”
Reverend Andrew Sheard said: “Thank you Alan for inviting me to the Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast in Westminster. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Alan in and around Emsworth in the future."
